Formerly Lunch WISE Wednesday, this series exclusively for women is being hosted by the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce. Each month we'll have a time of powerful networking, a motivational "TED-type" talk as well as a chance to learn more about your community. We look forward to having you join us!
"The Art of Resilience: A Woman's Journey Through Barriers"
99.6% of human DNA is identical to our neighbor. So why is it that each of us is so uniquely different? Despite sharing all that data with our male counterparts, a woman's biological journey through life is vastly different. In this talk we will not only explore the biology that makes us different but the unique psychological experiences that are often unique to women. While our biology gives a unique perspective to the human experience, our own personal journeys provide the framework for a beautiful and resilient creation that is often hiding behind the surface, waiting for self discovery. Dr. Wilson shares her journey of self discovery amidst the barriers of a woman in medicine, business ownership, and the caregiver role.
Meet our Speaker: Dr. Johanna Wilson
Dr. Wilson is a board certified psychiatrist with greater than 10 years experience since completion of medical school from Northeastern Ohio Medical University. There, she was nominated to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for excellence in academics and service. She completed her residency training at The Ohio State University Medical Center where she served as chief resident. During residency, she had an interest in adolescent psychiatry and spent extra time training on the child and adolescent psychiatric unit. During her last 9 years in outpatient mental health she has developed a passion for women's mental health issues but continues to enjoy working with all ages, males, females and non-binary individuals. She is well versed in treating a variety of mood, anxiety, trauma, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Wilson is currently enrolled in a 1 year Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship Program so that she can bring even more healing modalities to the patients of Hope419. Integrative Psychiatry focuses on the intersection between mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle and takes a holistic, non-pharmacological approach to patient care.
Prior to becoming "Dr. Wilson," she grew up in New London, Ohio and was always passionate about returning to the 419 to serve the communities that were close to her heart. She has a unique perspective on the needs of locals and the mental health stigmas they may face. She is eager to educate and empower the community members to learn to live their best life.
